We’re working with 19 schools in Tulsa to improve instruction in ELA, math, and early childhood education.

The Partnership

Leading Educators and Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) joined forces in the spring of 2017 to launch an ambitious five-year strategy to foster excellent and equitable experiences for every student every day. Having adopted strong, college and career ready curricula (Eureka in K-5 math and Core Knowledge Language Arts in K-5 ELA), the district sought a professional learning partner who would help them provide outstanding support to help teachers bring engaging lessons to life. Starting with a set of pilot schools and gradually expanding each year, the partnership with achieve a coherent instructional system that provides the capacity of continuous improvement and exponential impact.

Our Services

Our Goals

By the end of our 5-year partnership (in 2022) with Tulsa Public Schools, our vision is to have:

  • Supported TPS to scale a teacher-led, curriculum-specific professional learning system to most schools in the district and prepared the district to continue to expand and sustain the system over time

  • Worked in close collaboration with central office staff to create the adult learning curriculum, build the district knowledge and skills, and create the district roles necessary to deliver on a professional learning system that supports schools effectively

  • Positively impacted teacher practice and student outcomes

There was very little professional development happening, and when it was, it was happening in very large, unmanageable groups, in one-time doses that didn’t have a connection to what’s happening in unique schools...[now] there’s a sense of partnership and a feeling like [teachers are] being listened to and heard.”
