Managing Director of Networks
Kim is an educator and former district program leader who leads the team that manages the partnerships with Tulsa Public Schools and Summit Learning at Leading Educators.
Kim loves learning from and working with districts to rethink teacher professional development. She believes that when teachers are getting the support they need, the classroom becomes a place that nurtures students’ innate joy and creativity, helping them learn to love and better understand themselves, each other, and the world. That is exactly the kind of learning she wants for her two young children, Fletcher and Rose.
Prior to joining Leading Educators, Kim spent five years in the Office of Human Capital at DC Public Schools. During her time in DCPS, Kim was responsible for the ongoing design of IMPACT, DCPS’s teacher evaluation system, and she led the design and implementation of new teacher leader roles and professional development through the district’s Teacher Leadership Innovation initiative.
Kim began her career as a sixth grade English teacher in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas as a Teach For America corps member, where she was a finalist for the Sue Lehmann Award for Excellence in Teaching. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Communications from Penn State University’s Schreyer Honors College.
A northeasterner by birth and at heart, Kim now lives in her husband Brook’s hometown of Columbia, SC, where she misses winter but enjoys fair-weather mornings with a local women’s running group.
