We’re working with 12 schools in four districts to improve instruction in ELA and math.
Leading Educators’ Greater Grand Rapids partnership is a comprehensive effort to help teachers teach students to new heights. Working with leaders at every level of four school systems and EDNET, an initiative of the Doug and Maria DeVos Foundation, we aim to change outcomes for 40,000 students. Over three years, we have worked with 16 schools and directly served 150 K-12 teachers.
By expanding the school-based supports teachers have to create excellent and equitable school experiences every day, we can foster great futures for students in the classroom and beyond.
LE’s support to districts, team principals, and teacher leaders is intended to:
Establish Conditions for Large-Scale Growth and Sustainability by (a) prioritizing systems and structures that support distributed leadership and prepare teacher leaders to drive instructional improvement; (b) aligning district resources to Common Core shifts and instructional opportunities.
Empower Teacher Leaders to Drive Cycles of Professional Learning by (a) deepening content mastery across English Language Arts (ELA) and Math teams; (b) implementing an anti-racism framework; (c) equipping teacher leaders with instructional and leadership base-practices.
Build Districts’ Capacity for Sustainability and Growth by (a) collaborating on capacity-building and role development; (b) contextualizing training and practice; (c) supporting leaders through ongoing coaching.
