Chief Learning Officer
As Chief Learning Officer, Chong-Hao is responsible for cultivating and finalizing new district partnerships and for providing consulting support to those new partners as they come on board. Through this district consulting work, Chong-Hao leads a team that collaborates with new partners to identify their professional learning needs and priorities and develop the roadmap for Leading Educators’ three- to five-year partnership engagement. In his prior role as Chief Program Officer, Chong-Hao was responsible for training over 1,600 teacher leaders in Washington D.C., New Orleans, Houston, Kansas City, Denver, and Memphis. Chong-Hao has presented to the Gates Foundation, American Federation of Teachers, and the Aspen Institute and is the lead author of an Aspen Institute White Paper entitled “Leading from the Front of the Classroom.” Before his time at Leading Educators, Chong-Hao was the founding principal at KIPP Sharpstown in Houston, one of the highest performing schools in the city and one of the few fine arts schools dedicated to serving lower income students. He holds a B.A. from Yale University and a M.Ed. from National Louis University.
