We’re working with 17 schools in three school systems to improve instruction in ELA and math.
The project initially began with our work to recruit school districts and charter management organizations (CMOs) from the greater Chicagoland area to serve as partners. Members of Leading Educators’ district consulting team met with leaders from six different districts or CMOs in the area throughout the spring of 2017. Following several rounds of discussions and careful consideration of our selection criteria, we ultimately selected three partners for the project: Chicago Public Schools, North Chicago Public Schools, and KIPP Chicago.
The three primary goals of our partnership connected to the i3 grant that funds our work are:
Create conditions in schools for effective job-embedded, team-led professional learning
Improve CCSS-based pedagogical content knowledge and practice
Increase student achievement on CCSS-based assessments
