Director of Math Content
Calandra designs and facilitates learning experiences around math content for teacher leaders for Leading Educators. Before joining Leading Educators, Calandra worked as an assistant principal in a high school in Memphis, Tennessee, leveraging her strengths in instructional coaching to shift teacher practices leading to positive student outcomes. Prior to this, she worked as the Director of Numeracy and Assessment of a charter network in Memphis where she designed curriculum for K-12 mathematics and coached teachers and school leaders around content, assessments, and data.
She has also served as an content director, instructional coach and a lead math specialist. Calandra began her career teaching secondary mathematics in Florida and Georgia. She graduated from Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama with a B.A. in Biology and Mathematics Education and earned her M.A. and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. Calandra lives in Memphis, Tennessee, with her husband, Antoine, and daughters, Ashlyn and Amaree.
