Her passion for education started in college where she volunteered for a school based non-profit that built students’ social emotional skills through a series of interactive games and activities.

Before joining Leading Educators, she supported teacher leadership initiatives with the Partnership for Los Angeles schools and managed several large scale professional learning opportunities for educators across LAUSD. Prior to joining the non-profit sector, Brielle worked as an elementary special education teacher at a turnaround school in the Bronx, NY.

Brielle holds a M.A. in Elementary Special Education from Hunter College and a B.A. in Sociology from Fordham University. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband and spends her free time reading, hiking and traveling.

What Inspires You? I am inspired by fearless educators who wake up every morning with a passion for and love of their craft and who constantly push themselves and others to do what is best for the students they serve, including the deep and personal work of interrogating and interrupting the biases they see in themselves and the world around them. I believe teachers are our greatest change makers.

Fun-fact: Brielle was named after a small town in her home state of New Jersey.
