Program Manager for Empower (Tulsa)
Anita Carwile serves as the Program Manager of Leading Educators’ partnership with Tulsa Public Schools. She works to build and sustain strong support relationships with teacher leaders by ensuring frequent communication from program staff and providing logistical support to all program events to enhance their overall experience.
Anita joins Leading Educators from the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits where she served as the Director of Community Engagement. In this position, she was an advocate for the passionate and purposeful leaders and members of nonprofit organizations in Northeast Oklahoma. Specifically she was responsible for supporting leadership by providing quality professional development, advocacy, and networking opportunities.
In addition, Anita has dedicated 25 years of her life serving as an advocate for children and their families while she was employed at YWCA Tulsa, Head Start of Greater Dallas, and Sunbeam Family Services. In these positions, she worked effortlessly to cultivate high-quality learning experiences for children regardless of their backgrounds or socioeconomic status. She also utilized her enthusiastic and inclusive leadership skills to develop and mentor staff committed to excellence in education.
Anita earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Oklahoma and her Masters of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
Anita is passionate about the empowerment of girls and young women and the issues which are important to them. She shares her passion by serving as a mentor, board member and social agent of change in order to further the cause. She is the proud mother of two sons and one adorable grandson with whom she likes to travel, watch sports, and bake.
