Network Leadership & Design
Director of Content, Early Childhood Education
Alex is a committed early education advocate, leader, and constant learner, driven by our youngest learners who are our future. She leads the design of Leading Educators’ first ECE-specific professional development in partnership with the Executive Director of Early Childhood Education at Tulsa Public Schools.
As a kindergarten teacher, Alex learned from her students, families, and colleagues just how powerful love is, and she sees that as a driving force in her work. She believes in a love of learning, unconditional love for all students and adults we work with, and the belief that love can be transformational.
Before joining Leading Educators Alex was a Senior Manager at TNTP, advising and coaching district leaders on academic strategy, goals, and progress-monitoring approaches for early childhood education and early literacy. Prior to that Alex led teams that coached teachers and leaders, as well as trained both novice and seasoned teachers and teacher coaches. Alex taught in California, and she is a Teach For America and Pepperdine alumna.
A native of Chicago, Alex moved back to her hometown in 2013, is a life-long Chicago Cubs fan, and can often be found at the lake whenever the weather allows with her dog, Ernie Barks. Alex is also a tireless advocate to find a cure for Alzheimer’s which comes from the experience of witnessing her mother go through the disease at the age of 50, when Alex was just 15. She believes that research, education, and advocacy will lead to the cure of Alzheimer’s.
