What is the required time commitment?

Time Commitment
Joining Leading Educators is a two-year investment in your school, your team, and your students as well as your own professional growth. Although the impact of this ongoing support and development will extend well beyond the program tenure, it is important to consider the following time commitments when deciding whether or not to apply to the program.

In the first year you will be required to attend a Weekend Residential Induction (June 6 - 8, 2008 from Friday afternoon through Sunday lunch).

For each year of your two-year commitment you will be required to attend:

Summer intensive session (for 2008, this session runs July 21-25)
Evening workshops (6) during the school year
3-Day Trips to other cities to visit exemplary open-admissions urban schools that have closed the achievement gap
Weekend residential retreat (during the school year)
Meetings with your peer coach partner throughout the year (as scheduled by you and your partner)
Recruitment events as a member of the Leading Educators community
